Reviews - Coachmans Cottage

  • We would certainly re-book

Set in a lovely rural but easy to find location this cottage was just what we needed, a super comfy bed, tastefully decorated throughout, super helpful owners and staff plus everything you'd need for a perfect mini break for two. Also a great location for easy to access to the Brecon Beacons for walkers and not far from the town of Brecon if you needed a bit of shopping or some night life. It's also worth popping over to Talybont on Usk for a evening, a good choice of pubs and a nice canal walk just ten minutes drive away. We would certainly re-book.

  • Fabulous Cottage, stunning location

    The Coachmans
Left on Mar 11, 2018 for a stay in Mar 2018

The cottage was perfectly clean, and extremely well equipped. The housekeeper even put in a cot and a high chair for us for our 7 month baby to save us bringing those larger items. The cottage was spacious yet cosy on a chilly evening outside. A fire had been set in the wood burner ready to light (very useful for us city dwellers!) but the central heating was more than ample without needing the fire. The location was easy to find with the directions given and only a short drive from the main road. All in all we couldn’t fault our stay and would definitely return. Very highly recommended to anyone wanting a very comfortable break away in stunning scenery.

  • We highly recommend this property

We have just stayed at Coachhouse Cottage in the grounds of Tall Johns Manor, winner of Four in a Bed. It was a cold weekend, but inside was snug and welcoming, plus a log burner if needed! extra logs available if needed. The Cottage is well furnished, with everything you would need from a self catering break, just bring essentials i.e milk, bread etc as the nearest shop needs a car journey, only a few miles away. There is a lovely garden, we took a little dog who loved it! all the snowdrops and spring flowers were coming through, and the views were lovely! Each morning/evening we watched the horses being taken from the stables to their field and back, and enjoying themselves! We ventured out to the Lake, and to Brecon Beacons. There are supermarkets in Brecon, Morrisons and Co-op about 7 miles away, handy if you need to stock up! the highstreet is walking distance from Morrisons. There are so many walks and activities, but mostly for the summer, but we enjoyed our walks. There are some lovely pubs nearby too, good local food served. very friendly staff and locals, We highly recommend this property, and hope to go back in the future.

    Stayed: Christmas 2017

Me and my husband stayed here over the Christmas period and this cottage was absolutely perfect! Lovely and cozy, beautiful views and very peaceful. The owner made us feel very welcome upon our arrival and showed us around. The bed was also amazing and huge - great nights sleep! Definitely recommend. Thank you Liza for letting us rent the cottage!

This beautiful cottage is situated in a stunning location. Not only are the grounds beautiful but the views of the local area are amazing. Liza and Liz made our stay very special with great communication and lovely thoughtful extras. To be honest the photos on air bnb don't really do justice to how lovely the cottage is. There were lots of lovely touches throughout which made it very special for us We would definitely recommend visiting for the local walks, pubs or just a quiet getaway in front of the fire. We hope to comeback and explore more. Thanks :)

We stayed at the Coachman's house from the 6th to the 10th of June. Directions to the property we clearly provided and as we drove up to the gate, we were very much pleasantly surprised. Everything we needed were all there (even a Nespresso machine!). It was very clean when we arrived. The bedroom upstairs was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Only regret is we didn't get to look inside the main house as there were so much to explore in and around the area. My first time in Wales was a memorable experience and staying at the Coachman's house was a big factor.

We enjoyed our four night stay. It was primarily for a family occasion so we did not have time to visit all the attractions but would recommend it.

  • Beautifully presented cottage in charming grounds

    The Coachmans
Left on May 20, 2017 for a stay in Apr 2017

The cottage was as described, clean, well-equipped, well-presented. The area is stunning, with amazing stars, peace and tranquility. Well situated for time in nature, and not too far from interesting towns like Hay on Wye and Llandovery. Being in the grounds of a lovely period property added to the stay, rather than detracted. Staff were there if you needed them but otherwise discreet. More guidance on local pubs would've been useful, just a bit more visitor information of this kind would add something.

  • Delightful relaxing stay

I have this as a wedding present to a friend of mine. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful and even arranged a breakfast basket and champagne which was a really lovely touch. The log burner was so cosy and the bed was reportedly possibly the most comfortable they've ever slept on! I'd highly recommend this as a place for a weekend of reading by the fire, exploring the local area and seeing the beautiful national park.

We stayed here for our anniversary and also took the dog. A lovely cottage, with a wonderfully comfy bed, nice layout and power shower. Situated amongst welsh mountains and very close to Langors Lake, nice escape with only a short drive to Brecon. Great host who was very helpful. Highly recommend!!! Thank you for having the three of us, we had a fantastic weekend.

We loved our stay in the Coachman's Cottage except that it was too short! We would have loved to stay longer than the 2 nights here as it's a beautiful little cottage with all mods and cons. Very clean and decorated with love so guest can make themselves feel at home. The reception by the keeper there was especially nice. She was most welcoming, helpful and warm. We'll surely visit again!

Comfortable cottage friendly people & beautiful views.

We were made to feel very welcome as were our two little dogs! The cottage is lovey, full of character and the views are amazing! Plenty of walks for the dogs and well located for some sightseeing.

We couldn't get phone reception but the wifi worked fine!

Many times the pictures don't match the reality and the result is disappointment. But in this case this couldn't be further from the truth. It was luxurious and very nicely done. We were very warmly welcomed by Liza and were so pleased she had supplied milk, tea and coffee and fruit in case we needed it on arrival. We will return!
